Here at the Doula House we are committed to each mother's individual success. With your birth plan in place, and your desires laid out; we will work together to make your birth as beautiful as possible. 

We believe that every mother should have a Doula, and are willing to work with each one individually for a plan that works best for her.  

• The first interview is free of charge.  It is a chance for you to get to know who I am and to see if we are a good fit.

• 1-2 Comprehensive prenatal visits to discuss birth choices, the many comfort measures I use, and any other concerns.  We will also use this time to create a written birth plan to best convey your preferences to any medical staff that you will be encountering. We can practice breathing patterns, relaxation techniques, and go over exercises and positions for your comfort before and during labor. We will also discuss postpartum concerns and breastfeeding. This is the time to bring up any questions no matter how trivial you may think they are. There is no such thing as a stupid question.

• 24 hour on-call service 2 weeks before your due date, until your baby arrives. (Of course, you are welcome to call or email me at any time, with any questions or concerns)

• I provide you with your own birth ball to keep.

• Labor support begins we you decide you need me. This can be at home in earlier labor, or when you decide to leave for the hospital or birth center.  It continues until about 1-2 hours after delivery.  Doulas are usually the only continuous support you will receive in labor and delivery. (Nurses are responsible for many mothers at one time, and often cannot provide the support you may need)

• I help mom and baby establish breast feeding. (if that is your desire)

• A Birth Story, this is my written version of your beautiful birth, for you and your family to enjoy.

• 1-2 postpartum visits, where we can check on breastfeeding, and make sure mom, baby, and dad are doing great!

**If you haven't taken a childbirth preperation course (Hypnobabies or other) then we highly recommend you take the Comprehensive Childbirth class that we offer to our doula moms. This class covers childbirth, stages of labor, nutrition, and comfort measures. This class really helps you to have a better understanding of the birth process.

Add a second doula to any of these packages for $350. This is the PERFECT option for a mom who needs a little extra support or would like birth photography. A single doula is focused so much on mom, that she is unable to take pictures during the birth. When you hire a second doula you get the benefit of double the support, but with a great birth photographer. We specialize in birth, and the photos we can get our priceless.

• We are more than willing to work with those who need a more affordable rate. We also set up payment plans.  Please don't let money stand in your way of having birth support.
